Where Emotions Make Sense and Kids Feel Seen
Emotion Coaching supports emotional development by helping children recognise, understand and manage emotions.
Ink and Scribbles Kids Coaching is an emotional education service that supports your child to understand emotions, learn tools to manage them and develop life skills such as resilience, confidence, maintaining friendships or managing stress.
Coaching focuses on the journey from where your child is now to where they want to be.
It empowers, builds resilience and facilitates change.
Who is coaching suitable for?
Children and Teens
I work with children and young teenagers between the ages of approx 6 - 14 years.
Low Level Intervention
I work with children and young teens who would benefit from guidance and mentoring as a preventative or low level wellbeing intervention. Coaching is not therapy, but can help children thrive through a solution based approach to challenges such as confidence, worry or fixed mindset. If your child is a 'worrier', is struggling with maintaining friendships or tends to 'see the negatives' in a situation, then coaching could be helpful.
Making Sense of Emotions
Coaching can help children and young teens make sense of their emotional experiences through the emotional education element of sessions. By understanding physical sensations associated with emotions and stress responses, coaching can help reduce overwhelm. This can be a real game changing part of coaching for children who are quick to react, freeze up or avoid their emotions.
Coping Strategies
Coaching is solution based, meaning I show children and teenagers ways of managing and coping with big emotions and challenges, such as overcoming worry or confidence issues.
Educational. Engaging. Empowering.
My coaching training was with Emily at Mind Tools for Kids and I'm accredited with IPHM who help ensure professionalism and high standards within the holistic wellbeing sector. This training was specifically designed for working with children and young people and, along with my 15 years in the education sector teaching in primary schools, I'm very experienced in working with children and building rapport.
I am a trained as a Holistic, Creative and Therapeutic Practitioner, which brings creativity to my sessions to support the exploration of emotions and wellbeing.
I'm also a Natural Health Practitioner with Nutritional Therapy training (a separate service) and can offer parents tips in these areas too!

A calm and caring space for creative emotional expression.
I run 1-1 sessions in my wellbeing room in South Monmouthshire, UK. Through my coaching sessions I can help your child with issues such as understanding feelings, managing feelings, worries, negative thinking and confidence. I can support your child through challenges such as change (for example, transitioning schools or year group), friendship issues, specific worries or low confidence.
Online Sessions
Creative, age-appropriate activities and gentle emotional education through online coaching sessions are designed to help children and young people outside of my local area access support to build confidence, develop resilience, and learn practical tools for managing emotions and everyday challenges.
Whether your child is feeling anxious, struggling with friendships or finding school overwhelming, online sessions provide a positive and supportive environment where they can be heard and guided.
Flexible options are available, however a minimum number of sessions is applicable to ensure rapport is built and sessions are successful. Some printing of resources will be required.
Every child is unique, so sessions are tailored to individual needs, helping them discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and thrive in everyday life.

I'm a qualified Primary School Teacher (no longer in the classroom) with over 15 years experience working with children. As well as classroom teacher, I was also a senior leader of literacy across a school. After moving to Australia, I supported a child with Autism and learning difficulties 1-1 and also ran literacy intervention groups.
After returning to the UK, I founded the Ink and Scribbles resource store (you can read more about me here) and trained as a Mind Tools for Kids Coach. I added further CPD training in the form of Mindfulness and EFT. I've also received training as a Holistic and Creative Therapeutic Practitioner which allows me to add art and creativity to my sessions. This means I have a wide range of tools that I can use to meet the needs of clients. More recently, I trained as a Kinesiologist, adding a holistic perspective to my work. This involved an ITEC certification in Anatomy and Physiology which covers the nervous system. I've completed training on the Vagus Nerve too, which has given me significant insight into this part of the nervous system from a holistic perspective.
As well as my qualifications and training, I also hold:
- A DBS certificate
- A Safeguarding Children Certificate
- An Emergency First Aid Certificate
- Full Insurance
As a KA Foundation Level Kinesiologist (currently training for Diploma level), I can also arrange separate Kinesiology sessions for your child (with you present). Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that uses muscle testing to detect root cause of imbalances that can present physically or emotionally. In the case of children, and as a beautiful supplement to Ink and Scribbles Coaching, a separate Kinesiology session could help issues such as a digestive imbalance that is linked to emotional symptoms or a emotional block that a child may find difficult to articulate.
You can visit The Kinesiology Room here for more information about this element of the wellbeing work I do.

We'll have a pre booking chat to discuss suitability. Coaching is not therapy and therefore not all children would benefit from our sessions depending on their needs and level of intervention required. As an overview Ink and Scribbles Kids Coaching sessions can help children who worry or have low confidence, low resilience, have a fixed mindset or some negative beliefs but generally there are no severe mental health concerns or involvement with mental health services. It's a great preventive approach and early intervention option.
